Export Charge Rates is the final output area in the estimate workflow. Use it only after machine-level and fleet-level results have been reviewed.

What can be exported

Report Specifications lets users select:

• the report type;
• machine-record properties used to group or identify results;
• CBS component values included in the report;
• associated monthly forecast cost for the Rate Period; and
• individual or employment-weighted average charge rates.

Selections are included in the order chosen so the output can be tailored to its destination.

Charge-rate basis

A charge rate is the hourly unit cost of employing a machine during the Rate Period. ICE relates the applicable forecast cost to forecast employment for the same period. The charge-rate unit of measure is always Hour, and employment means the machine is running.

Employment-weighted average charge rates

When more than one machine or employment case represents like equipment, ICE can combine the individual rates using forecast employment as the weighting basis. The result is one rate that reflects the relative planned use of the combined machines.

Export Charge Rates provides two independent sets of grouping codes:

1. Use the first code set to build employment-weighted average charge rates for like machines for the job cost estimating system.
2. Use the second code set to build employment-weighted average charge rates for like machines for the job cost accounting system.

Maintain the two sets separately because the estimating system and accounting system may group like equipment differently.

How to use it
